Dec 29 – Grand welcome in pink city Jaipur, Goumata reaches the doors of Govind
by Media@Gougram.org ~ December 30th, 2009.Jaipur, December 29: Goumata in the form of Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra today reached the city of Govind, the pink city Jaipur. A grand procession involving 1100 women carrying poorna kalash, youth organizing vehicle rally and general public lightening the whole city, welcomed it.
A vehicle rally joined the main Yatra from Transport Nagar and it was accorded warm welcome by various social and business organisations till it reached Sanganer Gate. Elephants, horses, camels, bands and some groups of akharas also joined the procession from Sanganer Gate.
Highly moved with the welcome the yatra received, Gokarna Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji said Rajasthan should lead the cow protection movement. He described the welcome as ‘unique confluence of Gou and Govind’. He said the prime objective of the yatra is to strengthen the relations between goupalak (farmer) and the gou (cow).
Shri Indresh Kumar, national executive member of RSS, said the cow dung provides cold in hot and heat in winter. This is the reason people earlier used to apply cow dung in their houses. He said cow is the only creature in the world which always gives useful milk, dung and oxygen. He said the cow gives milk to all without any discrimination. He said the cow should not only be the national animal of Bharat but should also be the most revered animal of the world.
National working president of the Yatra Samiti Dr HR Nagendra said the objective of the yatra is not only to protect the cow but also is to reconstruct the country by promoting sustainable development of villages.
Mohammad Afjal of Rashtriya Muslim Manch said the ancestors of 99 per cent Muslims in India were Hindus and there is a provision of death sentence in Islam for those who kill the cow.
Beginning from Alwar and passing through Rajgarh and Bandikui the Yatra today reached Dausa where it was extended warm welcome. Many senior saints addressed the gathering and administered the oath of cow protection there.
The meeting organised at the premises of Govinddev Temple was addressed by Revasa Peethadhishar Shri Raghavacharya, Shri Harishankar Das, Shri Balmukundacharya, founder of Guru Gouraksha Gurukul Baba Niranjan Nath Avadhoot, Shri Dinesh Giri Maharaj, Shri Albeli Sharanji Maharaj and many others.
Providing detail of the campaign, Prant convener Shri Badrinarayan Chaudhary said the workers contacted 9458 villages of 16 districts and Jaipur Mahanagar of the Prant and they collected 35 lakh signatures. He pointed out that a Kamdhenu general knowledge competition was organised among 2100 schools and one college and more than one lakh ten thousand students participated in the competition.
