Oct 27 – Gou Gram Yatra assumes a gigantic form in Bihar – Dr Dinesh
by Media@Gougram.org ~ October 29th, 2009.Bihar Sharif, October 27: Dr Dinesh, convener of the Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra in North India, said the Gou Gram Yatra, after beginning from Kurukshetra, has assumed the form of a gigantic movement in Bihar. He was addressing the gathering of gobhakatas at Shram Kalyan Maidan of Bihar Sharif today. He said the yatra has touched the heart of the people of Bihar, which has been reflected by grand welcome with large number of people at many places. “People of Bihar believe in cultural values of the nation and the basis of our culture is gomata. It is the duty of the people of the state to protect and preserve the cow,” he said pointing out that only 50 cows against 1000 people have left in the country, which indicate to the extinction of the govansh. He said the cow is the foundation of our agriculture. The nature has given us a unique gift in the form of the cow but we are not conscious to protect and preserve this gift of the God. He said the country would have no future without the villages and their would be no betterment of the country without the cow.
The Gou Gram Yatra reached Bihar Sharif passing through Jehanabad, Gaya and Nawada. The yatra is getting tremendous response in Bihar. It is being welcomed at many places with band and processions. The function in Bihar Sharif began with shankhnad and goupujan.
